ARMAGEDDON . . . moving to Atelier Roquete!

29 Aug

Don’t cry Ben Affleck–just because the forecast is a washout doesn’t mean tonight’s screening is. That’s because we’re moving ARMAGEDDON to our rain location at Atelier Roquette at 63 Commerce Street between Van Brunt and Richards. Hometown will be making the trip with us, so come hungry for meatball subs and let’s close out this summer’s series right.

See you at Atelier!

DONNIE DARKO moving to Atelier Roquette tonight!

15 Aug

Well we’ve been pretty lucky with the weather this summer–but not today, I’m afraid. While the rain will likely clear up by showtime tonight, the ground at the pier is soaking wet. Thankfully the ladies at Home/Made have once again made their catering space at Atelier Roquette available for  just such an occasion. They’ll be opening up their doors at 63 Commerce Street at 7 PM and we’ll be screening at 8:30. And, not only will we have dinner from the Good Fork, and dessert from Dolce Brooklyn and KingLeche available, but we hear wine and beer will be as well.

So grab your blankets and chairs and we’ll see you at Atelier Roquette!

RAIN?@#$%?!

Well . . . when you’re an outdoor film series, it happens. Sometimes even on opening night. But never fear, Atelier Roquette has once again offered us their gorgeous event space as our rain-out location! And that means means that on top of dinner from Fort Defiance and ice cream and gelato from KingLeche and Dolce Brooklyn, there will be wine and beer for sale. So while we’re definitely keeping our fingers crossed for clear skies, it’s not a bad trade off. Tune in to this space tomorrow, and we’ll make the rain call by 6 PM.

When It Comes to Rain . . .

We’ve got game–thanks largely to our sponsors at HOME/MADE who have made their gorgeous event space, Atelier Roquette available to us for foul weather screenings. In a perfect world, would we prefer to watch the sun set over Valentino Pier while enjoying cool breezes off the water and waiting for the evening’s film to begin? Of course! But this is about the best rain location we could ask for–and they have a liquor license. Small bonuses, you know? So while we keep our eyes to the sky for the next screening, you can rest assured that the show will most awesomely go on–rain or shine.

RAIN?–Well, that’s why we have a back up plan!

7 Jul

We’re an outdoor film series, so we’re always doing the no-rain dance and wishing for clear skies. And today we’ll be watching the forecast closely, hoping we can keep opening night at the pier.

But, if the heavens open up it’s no reason to get down as we also we happen to have an awesome rain location. Our friends and sponsors over at HOME/MADE make their super-cool catering space, Atelier Roquette (63 Commerce Street, between Van Brunt and Richards–just down the block from Stumptown), available to us for inclement evenings. rain spaceWith couches to lounge on and plenty of room to spread out your blankets and beach chairs, it’s our home away from home when the weather gods send us a foul night. And did we mention the added bonus of wine and beer to wash down those delicious dinners from our sponsors? Well, it’s almost enough to make you pray for a little rain every now and then! So watch this space for updates on where to meet tonight. We’ll make the call by 6 PM.

MADAGASCAR tonight . . . at Atelier Roquette!

12 Aug

With heavy thunderstorms predicted for tonight and a coastal flood warning in effect, we’re going to move it, move it on over to Atelier Roquette for this evening’s screening of MADAGASCAR! But never fear, Icehouse will still be on hand, serving pulled pork, cole slaw, and mac cheese for dinner. The ladies of Home/Made will have beer and wine available. And King Leche Cremes will also be there selling their wonderful goat milk ice cream bars for the kids, in flavors that include Blushing Grasshopper, Chocolate, White Chocolate, and Vanilla with Mixed Berries. Sweet! (Literally!!)

We’re an outdoor film series, so we’re always doing the no-rain dance and wishing for clear skies. After all, with a park as beautiful as Valentino Pier, who wouldn’t want to spend the evening lazing in the grass, enjoying cool breezes off of Buttermilk Channel, and eating amazing food from our sponsors?

But we happen to be very fortunate with our rain space this year. Our friends and sponsors over at HOME/MADE have made their super-cool catering space, Atelier Roquette (63 Commerce Street, between Van Brunt and Richards–just down the block from Stumptown), available to us for inclement evenings. rain spaceWith couches to lounge on and plenty of room to spread out your blankets and beach chairs, it’s our home away from home when the weather gods send us a foul night. HUSTLE & FLOW is a go tonight at Atelier Roquette!

15 Jul

hustleflowWell, the weather out there is truly frightening–at least to those of us who have to take those coastal flood warnings seriously–so we’re officially moving operations to our rain location: Atelier Roquette. Show starts at 8:30, but arrive early so you can grab some terrific eats from Home/Made, including citrus ricotta on grilled filone and marinated goat cheese on pizza bianca. And if you’ve been missing the addictive garlic butter popcorn they used to serve during movie nights at the pier, then rejoice because they’ll have that back on deck for tonight! And then there’s the extr- special door prize for having to move the whole thing indoors: BOOZE! Beer and wine will be available. Doors open at 7 PM.
