In addition to tonight’s screening of PARIS IS BURNING, our friends at the African Film Festival are sharing Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania’s 2013 short WOODEN HAND with us. Set in Tunis, the film follows the adventures of a young girl named Amira who decides she’ll do anything to avoid going to school that day–including superglueing her hands to a chair! This charming, funny, and visually lush film will start the evening’s festivities off, so be there by 8:30 if you want to catch its al fresco premiere.
